Fond farewell, AEOA Chairman passes

It is with deep sadness we share the passing of AEOA Board Chairman Jeff Kletscher. Jeff passed away Monday, Aug. 24 following a serious illness.

Jeff Kletscher, AEOA Chairman 2016-2026

Jeff dedicated more than 20 years to our agency’s mission. He served as chairman from 2016 until his passing.

Jeff brought a wealth of knowledge to his leadership position. He diplomatically governed the AEOA board backed by experience as mayor of Floodwood, a member of the Floodwood city council and served on the Northwoods Credit Union Board. Jeff witnessed the retirement of three agency executive directors during his time on the AEOA board of directors and provided valuable stability and continuity through each leadership transition.

Those who worked closest with Jeff remember his thoughtful perspective, attention to detail and courage to ask the difficult questions that ultimately made our work, and our agency, stronger. Jeff addressed the challenges of COVID and helped guide our agency in food and hygiene product distribution efforts during the unprecedented time.

At AEOA, Jeff had a connection to nearly every facet of the organization. His passion for education and safe, affordable housing no doubt enhanced by his time as a teacher and real estate business owner. This dedication was crucial to our Head Start and Housing departments. Jeff’s life achievements truly positioned him to be a voice for our community.

Jeff cared deeply about all people in the communities we serve. He attended events and conferences, always learning about new developments in Community Action Agencies. Jeff was a passionate advocate for our clients, genuinely cared about our staff, and was committed to helping AEOA fulfill its mission.

Jeff was a man of faith, a dedicated member of his church. We hope to honor Jeff’s spirit and memory by serving our communities with the same commitment and compassion he demonstrated throughout his life. He presence will be missed; his influence will persevere.
