AEOA is committed to helping households improve energy efficiency and reduce heating costs through our Weatherization Program. Whether you qualify for income-based assistance or are interested in hiring our skilled team, we’re here to help make your home more comfortable and energy-efficient.

How it Works

Our highly qualified Energy Auditors evaluate your house to help pinpoint where your house is losing energy. Then our experienced and skilled work crews will complete improvements to reduce heating costs. Our program offers the following services:

• Education
• Energy Audits to evaluate home energy use
• Exterior wall and attic insulation
• Air sealing
• Test, repair, and/or replace home heating systems to ensure efficiency and safety

Income Eligibility

Services are free for homeowners and renters who are at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines, residing in Lake, Cook or St. Louis Counties.

• All homeowners and renters who have an “approved” application from Energy Assistance are eligible for Weatherization services
• Priority is given to households with at least one elderly person, or disabled person, or young children, and to customers with the highest heating costs
• For those who do not qualify based on income, see our Arrowhead Weatherization Program below

Arrowhead Weatherization “Fee for Service” – Professional Services for Hire

In addition to providing income-based Weatherization assistance, AEOA operates Arrowhead Weatherization, a trusted contractor service available for hire for comprehensive home energy improvements. Let us help you pinpoint where your house is losing energy by having our Certified AEOA Weatherization Energy Auditor give you a professional report of what energy consumption issues are in your home and how they need to be addressed. We provide complete start-to-finish weatherization services, but can also handle individual projects upon request. Contact us for a quote on any work you’d like completed.
