Head Start’s Health and Mental Health Services Advisory Committee (HMHSAC) consists of parents, community members, staff, and local health professionals with varied specialties. The HMHSAC role is to problem-solve and advise the program on how to strengthen health services Head Start delivers. The committee covers emerging health issues; developing plans, policies, and procedures; and ways to mobilize community resources. The HMHSAC supports the program and families in children’s healthy growth and development.
