Providing Help When Options Run Out
The AEOA Foundation Fund was created to meet needs that couldn’t be met through existing resources. The Fund gives AEOA flexibility to use dollars for various situations as a last resort, when there are no other options. This fund allows AEOA to assist community members with pressing needs that often mean the difference between hunger, joblessness, or homelessness.
Eligibility
Individuals enrolled in an AEOA program are eligible. AEOA has several programs you may be enrolled in, such as Energy Assistance, Head Start, Meals on Wheels, and more. If you do not know whether you are enrolled in an AEOA program, please contact AEOA.
Eligible Situations
The Foundation Fund assists with various situations that cannot be resolved by other resources. The Fund Committee will determine whether the situation is eligible based on the information you provide in your application.
The following expenses are not eligible
- Recurring bills (such as a monthly bill)
- Any debt
- Vehicle parts (batteries are the only exception) unless vehicle repairs or maintenance are completed by a certified automotive mechanic at an authorized auto shop
- New vehicle purchase
- Gas cards
- Food
- Clothing (interview/job clothing may be considered)
- House repairs
- Legal fees
- Illegal activities (reinstatement of driver’s license lost due to illegal activity, etc.)
- Animals or pets (food, vet bills, etc.)
Important
- This fund receives many requests; therefore, funding is NOT guaranteed
- This is a fund of last resort. You must identify other resources you have tried to secure (Salvation Army, United Way, etc.)
- A person can receive a maximum of $300 within a 3-year period. Any need beyond this amount must be met by personal funds or other resources
- Support must resolve the need, but may be combined with other resources (out of pocket, assistance from another organization)
- If awarded, funds are paid directly to the service provider, not the applicant.
- An award is not conditional on consent for release of story.
