Employment Equity Program (Bridge to Employment)

Employment Equity Program (Bridge to Employment)

Availability: Northern St. Louis County.

Eligibility: You are eligible for the program if (a.) you are currently enrolled with MFIP or are applying and approved for MFIP through St. Louis County and (b.) you self-identify as African American or as American Indian, but you are not a member of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe.

Program Description: Bridge to Employment provides MFIP Employment Services for African American and American Indian families in a friendly, multicultural environment.

We address the many barriers our families face every day, caused by poverty and racism, through the use of an empowering, strength-based approach. This includes connecting with and developing community relationships with local Tribal entities and local African American support agencies. This strategy focuses on the particular institutional barriers that create the racial and ethnic disparities that affect individual/family sustained self-sufficiency.
